EV Charger Installation Electrician in Washington
Ohme, Zappi, Project EV and other home chargers fitted across Washington, with your supply checked first and the app set up before we go.
A home charger is a dedicated circuit from your board to the wall unit, with protection designed for charging outdoors. We check your main fuse and existing load first, so it doesn’t trip every time the oven’s on.
Tethered chargers keep the cable on the wall; untethered ones keep it in the car. If you have solar, a solar-matching charger like the Zappi can top up the car from your own generation.
What we check first
- Main fuse size and household load
- Spare ways and protection in the board
- Earthing for the outdoor circuit
- Cable route to the charger
- Where the car parks and where its port is
- Solar, battery or tariff features you want
How an install works
- Survey
Photos of your board, meter and drive are often enough.
- Install
Dedicated circuit and charger, usually half a day to a day.
- Set up
Tested, paired with its app and certified.
Charging in Washington
With one of the UK’s biggest car plants on the doorstep, building electric cars for years, Washington has plenty of EV drivers. One thing to check: many of the town’s original estates have parking in courts or garage blocks away from the house, so a home charger needs a drive or a parking space you can reach from your own supply.
EV charger questions
My car parks in a parking court. Can I have a charger?
Only if the space is yours and can be supplied from your own electrics without crossing shared or public land. We’ll look at it honestly before you buy anything.
Tethered or untethered?
Tethered is more convenient; untethered looks neater. Both charge just as well.
Do I need a new board?
Not always. If there’s a spare way and suitable protection, no. If not, a small dedicated board is often the neatest fix.
